The 33-year-old man was charged with using criminal force against his stepdaughter with intent to outrage her modesty, at his house in Sungai Besi here at 6am on Nov 10.

Magistrate Umzarul An Nur Umar ordered the accused, who is an auxiliary police officer with the rank of inspector, to undergo counselling with the Social Welfare Department for six months after his release and ordered him to serve his prison sentence from the date of arrest on Nov 30.

According to the facts of the case, on Nov 28, the complainant, who is a medical officer who treated the victim, lodged a police report after being told the victim had been sexually abused by her stepfather.

The victim said she was molested by her stepfather since last year until Nov 10 (last occurrence).

Deputy public prosecutor Noor Jazilah Mohd Yusha said the accused, instead of protecting his stepdaughter, had molested her and subjected her to acute emotional distress and ruined her life.

The accused, a who is looking after six children, including two step-children, was not represented.
