According to Malaysiakini, Tengku Adnan told a press conference he was not bothered and would let the Red Shirts leader do and say as he wanted.
“Let him say what he wants, I will not entertain people like that,” he said after launching a lottery draw for affordable housing in Kuala Lumpur today.
Jamal had called Tengku Adnan “nyanyuk”, or senile, after the latter declared that action would be taken against Umno members who took part in the Red Shirts counter rally to Bersih 5 on Nov 19.
Jamal had denied that Umno members had taken part, saying that those who attended, including himself, had been there in their personal capacities as representatives of NGOs.
On the progress of party action against errant members involved in the counter rally, Tengku Adnan said Umno was monitoring the situation and would come to a decision soon.
Tengku Adnan warned that the party would also take action against members found to be involved in the attack on Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad on Parliament grounds on Thursday.
“We’ll wait and see, for if we want to act on everything… you know how it is. Those who do these things are half mad too,” he said.
Tengku Adnan has denied Umno complicity in the matter.
