Jamal, who is head of Sungai Besar Umno, said the proposal by Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki had sparked political controversy and anger. It had also led to an irresponsible social media post of an image of a pig in royal attire, which is believed to be aimed at the Sultan of Selangor, he said.
“I will lodge a report on behalf of Selangor Umno against Wong and those involved in the insulting social media post. Selangor Umno calls for action to be taken without compromise against those who attempt to threaten the harmony in the state and insult the royal institution,” he said in a statement.
Earlier this week, he had labelled Wong’s proposal as being disrespectful; he said she should get out of Selangor if she did not want to accede to the Selangor sultan’s wishes. Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had said in February he did not consent to pig farming being conducted in any district in the state.
Wong has since stood by her call, while opposition assemblymen have accused her of going against the sultan’s wishes.
