AMPANG JAYA:
Several Umno division leaders have filed police reports against Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki over her closed pig farming system proposal in Selangor.

Led by Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Yunos, the reports demanded strong action against Wong for allegedly defying the Selangor sultan in pushing for the proposal.

They also lodged reports over an irresponsible social media post of an image of a pig in royal attire, which is believed to be aimed at the sultan.

Jamal claimed that Wong had committed treason against the Selangor ruler by standing by her proposal despite the sultan previously calling for a complete end to pig farming in the state.

“We are not only asking the police to take firm action against those who edited the image of His Royal Highness, but also against Wong, who caused this matter to escalate,” said Jamal at a press conference outside the Ampang Jaya police headquarters here.

Sungai Besar Umno Youth chief Imran Tambin said he lodged a report against a Facebook page that allegedly posted the image insulting the sultan.

They had called for investigations to be held for sedition and improper use of network facilities.

Last week, Wong defended her pig farming proposal, saying it was based on feedback from residents in her constituency.

She was backed by DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook and legal bureau chief Ramkarpal Singh, who said the proposal was a respectful “alternative view” offering constructive solutions and part of Wong’s duty as an assemblyman to voice concerns in the assembly.
