Witness, S Kumuthini, 24, said she was made aware of the incident after one of her neighbours knocked on the door and informed her about the baby lying in front of her house at 2.15pm.
“When found, the baby was clad in only a diaper, wrapped in a jacket, and left along with some items, including a bottle of milk and two pieces of disposable diapers in a plastic bag, which was placed beside the baby,” she told Bernama here today.
Kumuthini said she and other residents at the scene were then approached by an unidentified man, aged in his 20s, who claimed the baby belonged to his relative.
She said the man fled towards the staircase in a hurry when they asked him for his phone number.
Following that, she said the neighbour, who found the baby, lodged a report at the nearest police station before it was sent to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (PPUKM) here for a medical examination.
