Businessman shot dead near toll plaza in Shah Alam

Gunman pumps at least 10 shots at car, six of which hit businessman.

SHAH ALAM:
A 43-year-old businessman was shot dead in his vehicle near Sungai Rasau Toll Plaza here today.

Gooi Tan Hock was found lifeless with six gunshots to his body.

District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said in the incident around 4.35pm, the victim was believed to have been driving his Toyota Vellfire from Klang to his home in Kajang.

“The victim is believed to have been shot dead by an individual on a motorcycle.

“Prior to the incident, the victim had presumably managed to pay toll using his Touch ‘n Go card,” he told reporters here today.

He said the engine of the car was still running when police reached the victim.

Police did not find any valuable items in the vehicle.

Investigations found 10 gunshots were fired at the vehicle, six at the victim.

Shafien said police believed the shooter was a professional, judging by the accuracy of his shots.
