The water is apparently packaged by a religious movement called Bai Shi Yin Guang Li Liang Ke Ji Yan Jiu Yuan (Bai Shi Yin – Light, Force Technology Research Centre), that claims that its “wisdom light technology” can rid all negativity from one’s body, a report in The Star said.
Secretary of the board of governors of SJK(C) Pandamaran A, Choo Kim San, said the headmistress had been making the students drink the water despite being repeatedly told not to do so.
“She has been doing it for the last four years. We have asked her many times to stop but she still continues with the practice,” Choo said at a press conference organised by Klang MCA Public Complaints and Services bureau deputy chief Tan Bok Koon.
Tan said the headmistress was also alleged to have hung buntings in the school’s premises that claimed academically weak students who drank the water, had emerged as top scorers in the UPSR examination.
A vending machine was later installed so students could purchase the water themselves as and when needed.
“Teachers also took students who were weak in their studies to the headmistress’ office where she sprinkled the water on them,” said Tan, adding that the headmistress had also issued a letter of appreciation from the school to the religious organisation she was promoting thanking them for the “miracle water.”
“It is wrong to issue a letter from the school without the consent of the board of governors.
“The headmistress should be dealt with by the state education authorities for promoting her religious beliefs in school,” the English daily reported Tan as saying, while adding that data on the matter was being compiled so it could be handed over to Deputy Education Minister Chong Sin Woon.
