PUTRAJAYA:
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia today ticked off former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said for what he described as an attempt to “ambush” his successor, Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.

He brought up the subject in a speech at the official opening of Menara SPR here.

Yesterday, Ahmad introduced a motion of no-confidence against Razif in the Terengganu State Assembly, but the Terengganu Speaker struck it off.

Pandikar Amin said Ahmad ought to have known that he had to give the speaker of the house notice of his intention to table the motion.

“It was as if he wanted to launch an ambush,” he said. “There should be no cheating in a democratic system. Everything must be transparent and requires notice.”

In introducing the motion, Ahmad alleged that there was a conspiracy to smear his name as a politician.
