Others might be planning to treat themselves to a holiday during the festive period, with travel restrictions having recently been removed for all vaccinated folks.
If you’re looking for somewhere to have a delightful feast or have a glorious staycation, why not head to Le Quadri Hotel? Tucked away in a quiet corner of Cheras and just a short drive away from the city centre, it is the place to be for a quick getaway in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
This Hari Raya, Le Quadri is preparing a banquet for all Malaysians to enjoy, while offering the opportunity for a couple of lucky guests to win a luxurious stay.

2022 marks executive chef Salim Bahari’s first year of service at Le Quadri Hotel, but he is drawing on 36 years of experience to cook up something fantastic.
With the theme of “Air Tangan Bonda”, he invites Malaysians to enjoy delicious cuisine only mothers could cook. Many of the dishes in the buffet are authentic recipes by the womenfolk in Salim’s own family, lovingly recreated as a homage to them.
The buffet runs from April 6 to 30 and is priced at RM158 per adult, and RM85 for seniors above 65 and children below 12.
Befitting a Ramadan buffet, many traditional Malay delights are on the menu. The highlight has to be the udang galah masak lemak, featuring big, juicy prawns served in a creamy, spicy gravy.

At the Nasi Kandar Corner, take your pick from the sambal sotong, ayam goreng berempah, ikan pari masak ayam pedas, and tofu sumbat. And on your way back to your table, don’t forget to grab a few handfuls of crispy keropok to munch on.
For healthy alternatives, look no further than the ulam-ulam. These fresh, nutritious greens are from UCSI University’s own organic farm, and come served with an array of condiments and dressings.
There is also a selection of tasty salads ready for the partaking. Choose between the Thai beef salad, seafood Thai salad, Som Tam, and vermicelli salad – or just take a bit of everything!

What Hari Raya buffet would be complete without some satay to feast on? With free flows of peanut sauce, gorge yourself on these tasty meat skewers without guilt.

Don’t forget to try the Sup Gearbox, too. Sucking the bone marrow dry – a relatively recent development – has become a popular dining activity when breaking fast.

Given Malaysia’s diversity, it only makes sense for the buffet to be wide-ranging in its offerings as well. With the assistance of chef Alex Chan, Salim’s team has prepared an array of western and Chinese-inspired dishes for local foodies.
Kuay teow, egg tofu, pasta and pizza are among the offerings, on top of seafood and meat dishes such as ragout and goulash.

Of particular significance is the DIY BBQ Corner, where guests are free to grill a variety of meats including beef sirloin, chicken kebabs, lamb racks, and chicken drumsticks.
Here’s the best part: diners stand a chance to win a stay at the hotel by photographing themselves grilling away. All you have to do is take a selfie at the DIY BBQ corner, post it on social media, and include a hashtag that will be provided to you by the staff.
The post with the most “likes” will win a two-night stay at Le Quadri Hotel, while the runner-up will be awarded a one-night stay.

In addition, Salim and his team are inviting Malaysians to submit their mum’s classic recipes for the “Air Tangan Bonda” competition.
Include a short story about your mum with your recipe for a halal hot dish that can feed up to six people, and stand to win a surprise prize.
The ‘Air Tangan Bonda’ recipe contest closes this Saturday, March 26, so get writing! The DIY BBQ competition runs until the final day of the buffet on April 30.
