SUNWAY CITY:
“Nights of Fright” at Sunway Lagoon, is back for its 11th year, bigger, darker, scarier and more exciting than ever.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from Sept 26-Nov 2, the Puppetmaker will take centre stage, pulling the strings of Malaysia’s ultimate festival of fear.

What began in 2013 as Malaysia’s first large-scale Halloween event has grown into a must-visit attraction in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, drawing visitors from across the country and beyond.

This year, the bar is even higher, featuring seven brand new haunted attractions along with two event favourites, ensuring fresh horrors at every turn.

With exciting fresh local, regional, Hollywood, and global themes across character-driven storylines, immersive set designs and scenarios that push the boundaries of imagination, this year’s “Nights of Fright” guarantees a scream-filled experience like never before.

The festival was officially launched yesterday, opening with a spine-chilling spectacle as the Puppetmaker along with Hantutu, were accompanied by special guests Hantu Kum Kum and Poh Kong, who arrived in an extravagant pink hearse.

They were accompanied by Michelle Soong, assistant general manager of marketing & business development at Sunway Theme Parks, and Lynton V Harris, founder, global creative director, and CEO of The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company, and creative director of “Nights of Fright”.

The launch unfolded with a haunting ballerina performance and the ceremonial turning of the Puppetmaker’s key, which unlocked a giant music box and set off a cascade of eerie pink fireworks across the night sky.

Walking the Pink Path of Strings, VIP partners proceeded to officiate the opening before guests entered the park for the grand reveal – the world’s first life-size Blind Box haunted attraction.

The Blind Box is a new haunted experience featuring the terrifying yet strangely adorable Hantutu, who tapped into the current global zeitgeist of collectable toys.

As Malaysia’s largest and longest-running Halloween festival, “Nights of Fright” has positioned Sunway City Kuala Lumpur as a regional hub for themed entertainment.

“Nights of Fright has grown into so much more than just a Halloween festival; it has become a stage where Malaysia’s culture meets global horror, creating experiences that are both unique and unforgettable,” said Soong.

“What makes us proud is knowing that the festival doesn’t just deliver thrills, it also drives tourism, nurtures local talent and strengthens Sunway City Kuala Lumpur’s position as one of Asia’s most exciting destinations,” she added.

Soong said that each year, the event drives tourism with increased demand for hotels, dining, and transport across Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, while also creating hundreds of jobs for performers, crew members, and creative professionals.

This year, the Puppetmaker invites guests into his twisted workshop, where marionettes twitch to life, shadows whisper secrets, and nightmares are stitched together with strings of fear.

“From the very beginning, Nights of Fright was designed to be more than just jump scares – it’s about storytelling, atmosphere and creating worlds where folklore and imagination collide,” said Harris.
