
The company said the contract in the Southern African nation was awarded by Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, for the provision of its semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig.
“The project entails using a first of its kind technical solution to improve efficiency for the drilling campaign,” it said in a statement tonight.
“The latest achievements have lifted the value of contract wins to RM9.3 billion for its current financial year.
“The company’s growing order book will see higher utilisation of its assets as it gears up for the long-term growth across its services segment.”
The statement also said Sapura Drilling has accepted an extension of its contract with Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited for the provision of Sapura Esperanza.
The contract for the semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig entails drilling three wells off Sarawak.
It said Sapura Drilling has also been awarded a contract extension by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd for the provision of a semi-tender assisted drilling rig, Sapura Berani, involving the drilling of two wells off Sabah.
In addition, Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Energy, has been awarded a contract by Petronas Floating LNG 1 to undertake engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning works for the relocation and tie-in of PFLNG Satu.
This is the Petronas floating LNG project located in the Kumang cluster off Sarawak.
“Additionally, Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia BV (Hess) has appointed Sapura Fabrication to perform an additional scope for offshore transportation and installation works under an existing contract,” the statement said.
This is for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning plus installation for their facilities in the North Malay basin.
Last month, Sapura Energy and its consortium partner were awarded a contract worth about RM3 billion by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in India.
The contract is for engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning works for a central processing platform and living quarters.
The consortium partners comprise Sapura Fabrication and Afcons Infrastructure Limited (Afcons).
