PETALING JAYA Integrated oil and gas services company Sapura Energy Bhd has given an assurance that the company’s operations and financial activities are continuing as normal, following a news report of a corporate figure being investigated over ownership of the company’s shares.
Sapura Energy said in a statement that the company’s access to the group’s bank accounts remained unaffected and the company was operating as normal, Bernama reported.
The assurance came after the New Straits Times reported yesterday about an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission linked to several investments made following the merger of Sapura Kencana Petroleum Bhd and Sapuracrest Petroleum Bhd, which later became Sapura Energy.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said it had fully cooperated with the MACC in the past “and remains committed to providing any further assistance required by the authorities”.
