Pulau Carey is a small island in Kuala Langat, Selangor, located south of Port Klang and west of Banting town. Known as an attractive recreational location, it is perfect for those who are looking for a relaxing, entertaining and enlightening weekend away.

This tourist destination is named after Edward Valentine John Carey, a British rubber planter who acquired the island from Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah, patron of the nearby Istana Bandar Jugra.

Despite its name, many locals do not consider Pulau Carey to be an island in the strictest sense, given that a river, Sungai Langat, separates it from the mainland.

Pulau Carey’s attractions are renowned for showcasing the indigenous peoples of Selangor and preserving their culture and settlements. Here are six places you should check out on your visit here.

Professional and amateur players alike will enjoy teeing off at Amverton Cove’s 18-hole golf course. It is surrounded by sand, ponds and lakes, mangrove forests and lush vegetation, including a 70m walk through a tidal forest.
