Tuan Ibrahim, who is PAS deputy president, said he has no interest in wasting more time and energy over the allegations as there are far more important matters affecting the public that deserve his attention.
“However, I must state clearly and unequivocally that such accusations are false. Those claiming that I failed to pay rent must provide proof,” he said in a Facebook post.
He said he has diligently paid rent since January 2025, when the rate was set at RM1,800 monthly. From September last year, he said he paid a rent of RM2,200 per month under a new tenancy agreement with a new landlord.
“As for the rent for May 2026, it was deducted from the excess deposit being held, as advised by my lawyer, following the landlord’s instruction to vacate the premises in a manner that was inconsistent with the tenancy agreement.
“I hope those who have been spreading the false claim that I failed to pay the building rent will cease doing so immediately,” Tuan Ibrahim said.
He added that he has instructed his lawyer to take the necessary legal action to clear his name and protect PAS’s reputation.
A man claiming to be the landlord posted on Facebook that he had tried to terminate the tenancy several times because the PAS leader failed to fulfill his duties and obligations, causing him “hardship and financial losses”.
The man also said legal proceedings would be initiated against Tuan Ibrahim next week.
