
In a Facebook post, Anwar said he congratulated Vijay again on the significant responsibility he had taken on in serving the people of Tamil Nadu.
“I also informed him that I would be going to India this September to attend the BRICS summit and meet prime minister Narendra Modi. If time permits, I may make a short visit to Tamil Nadu,” he said.
Anwar prayed that Vijay would be granted continued strength and wisdom to lead effectively for the sake of Tamil Nadu’s people and future.
On May 12, the prime minister had congratulated Vijay, a popular South Indian film icon, on his appointment as chief minister while expressing interest in fostering closer cooperation.
Vijay, 52, who transitioned from a prolific acting career to full-time politics, leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party, which secured a decisive victory in the state assembly elections.
