“In politics, one would surely be looking for opportunities at all times, and they are trying to seize this opportunity,” Zahid told reporters briefly when asked about PN’s offer.
Earlier today, Negeri Sembilan opposition leader Hanifah Abu Baker said PN was ready to work with BN to form a new state government, after BN’s 14 assemblymen withdrew their support for menteri besar Aminuddin Harun.
State Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias had announced the retraction of support, saying it was linked to the ongoing crisis involving four chieftains seeking to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, from his position.
Asked if BN would push for a snap state election to be held, Zahid said the matter had yet to be discussed by the coalition’s top leadership.
“We will discuss it first,” said Zahid, who earlier said he would meet all 14 BN assemblymen.
