Yemeni teen killed after car plunges into ravine at KL-Karak Highway

The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other foreign nationals escaped with minor injuries.

PETALING JAYA:
An 18-year-old Yemeni was killed when the car he was travelling in skidded off the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Highway and plunged into a ravine early today.

Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said an emergency call was received at 4.47am about the crash at KM27.4 of the highway heading towards Karak.

He said a team from the Selayang fire and rescue station arrived at 5.03am and found four male victims trapped inside the vehicle in the ravine.

“The victims were successfully extricated by personnel. Three sustained minor injuries while one was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers,” he said in a statement.

The three other victims were a 19-year-old Yemeni who suffered minor injuries, a 20-year-old Yemeni who fractured his right arm, and an 18-year-old Iraqi who sustained injuries to his head and right arm.
