
Bung, who is defending the Lamag seat, said BN’s candidates and organised strategy had placed the coalition in the best position to retake the state.
“Our candidates are experienced and capable of bringing real change. Our machinery has been moving aggressively and in an organised manner.
“The people want stability, and BN is the answer,” he said in a statement today, adding that the people were tired of political instability and needed firm administration.
Bung, who is also Sabah Umno chief, said BN had identified the people’s needs, and was formulating concrete steps to develop the state.
“We do not promise the stars and moon. We work. We understand what the people want, and momentum is building on the ground,” he said.
Sabah BN is contesting 45 seats at the election this Saturday. A simple majority of 37 out of 73 seats is needed to form the state government.
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Hajiji Noor previously expressed confidence that GRS could take at least 37 seats out of the 55 the coalition is contesting.
Warisan president Shafie Apdal also said his party, which is contesting all 73 seats, aims to secure a two-thirds majority and run the state on its own.
