Perak fire and rescue department acting operations chief Shazlean Hanafiah said the department received an emergency call at about 12.40am.
Firefighters from the Teluk Intan and Hutan Melintang fire and rescue stations, and volunteer fire brigades were deployed to the scene and arrived within five minutes.
He said the blaze destroyed about 90% of the houses, and three motorcycles, but no casualties were reported.
“The fire was brought under control at about 1.10am and fully extinguished by 3.05am. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still being investigated,” he said.
The Perak disaster management committee secretariat said 21 victims from four families have been relocated to a temporary relief centre at the Teluk Intan municipal council hall.
