
JOHOR BAHRU: Two people died while three others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles in front of the Kenangan mosque in Simpang Renggam this afternoon.
The fire and rescue department said the accident involved a Perodua Kancil, a Toyota Hilux, and a Ford factory van.
“The driver and passenger in the Perodua Kancil, identified as Rulijah Ahmad, 51, and Salam Norazli, 15, were killed while another passenger, a nine-year-old boy, Osama Norazli, sustained injuries,” the department said in a statement today.
The driver of the factory van, B Chandran, 53, was also injured, while a man driving the Toyota Hilux was taken by passers-by to a nearby clinic.
Members of the public extricated all the victims from the vehicles before firefighters arrived.
