Cops nab driver over 5-vehicle crash on NKVE

Police say an SUV is believed to have careened to the right side of the road, causing several vehicles behind it to collide.

PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a man to assist an investigation into an accident on the New Klang Valley Expressway involving two lorries and three cars on Oct 18.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said the accident happened when an SUV careened to the right side of the road.

“A lorry coming from behind then collided with several other vehicles that had slowed down at the scene of the accident,” Utusan Malaysia reported him as saying.

Shamsudin said the 22-year-old driver did not have any police record.

“Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 (for reckless and dangerous driving),” he said.
