PETALING JAYA:
An argument that broke out while a group of men was buying drinks in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, led to two of them being attacked with an axe and a sickle last night.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Kasim Muda said the two victims were buying drinks with several friends at Kampung Sembulan Lama at around 8pm when they had a misunderstanding with a local known as “Totong”.

After arguing with the pair, “Totong” went back home to allegedly grab an axe and a sickle. He returned to the scene and began attacking the victims with the sharp weapons.

“As a result, one of the victims suffered injuries on the back of his neck and legs while the other suffered injuries on his neck and arm.

“Both victims are seeking further treatment at a nearby hospital and are in stable condition,” Kasim said in a statement.

Police are now working on tracking down the suspect. The case is being probed under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.
