
PETALING JAYA: A man was killed after a tree fell and crushed his four-wheel-drive pick-up truck along Jalan Batang Kali in Hulu Selangor this afternoon.
Selangor fire and rescue department deputy operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received an emergency call at 2.14pm and sent five personnel from the Kuala Kubu Bharu station to the site.
A tree had fallen and crushed the pick-up truck, trapping the driver inside, he said in a statement. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bernama reported Hulu Selangor police chief Ibrahim Husin as saying checks found that the 23-year-old victim worked as an assistant event coordinator at a homestay in Batang Kali, Selangor.
