Bersatu’s disciplinary board also expelled four division chiefs; Azrudin Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Isa Saidi (Ampang).
The action was reportedly taken over allegations that the group was involved in a “statutory declaration movement” aimed at toppling Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, and their alleged role in a recent commotion during an official event.
In a statement, the disciplinary board said it received written complaints from Bersatu members against Wan Saiful, Wan Fayhsal and the four others for violating the party’s constitution and code of conduct.
The board said it investigated the complaints and summoned the respondents for a hearing on Oct 8 before subjecting them to disciplinary action.
“The board’s decision was based on investigations conducted and due consideration. The decision was reached without any external interference and in an impartial manner.
“The board calls on all Bersatu members to abide by the party’s constitution and the members’ code of ethics and conduct to safeguard Bersatu’s good name,” it said.
They have 14 days to appeal the decision.
FMT has reached out to Wan Saiful, Wan Fayhsal, and the party’s disciplinary board for comment.
