PETALING JAYA: The government will allocate RM6 billion to provide education opportunities to Bumiputera students next year, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He said these funds, aimed at “prioritising education opportunities” for Bumiputera students, will be allocated under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), Yayasan Peneraju and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
To further support the community, Anwar said RM2.4 billion will be directed towards G1 to G4 Bumiputera contractors while RM10 billion in government guarantees will be earmarked for Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
SME Bank will meanwhile provide RM200 million in loans to Bumiputera small and medium-sized entrepreneurs with the goal of helping them penetrate the export market.
