PETALING JAYA:
The government has identified three residential projects across three states to incorporate vertical schools.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the projects are Kota Madani in Precinct 19, Putrajaya; Rumah Bakat Madani SkyWorld Pearlmont in Seberang Perai, Penang; and Residensi Aman Madani in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur.

“The vertical school concept aims to optimise resources in high-density areas by integrating schools and residential facilities within the same building,” he said when tabling the 2026 budget.

It was previously reported that the education ministry has finalised its guidelines for the development of vertical schools, taking into account basic principles for the design, including supervision and student safety.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall previously proposed the construction of more vertical-concept schools to address land constraints and the growing population in the capital city.
