PETALING JAYA:
The decomposed body of a man, believed to be a foreign national, was found wrapped in a blanket on the Sungai Kelantan riverbank behind Masjid Jamek Muhammadi in Kota Bharu yesterday.

The body of the man, believed to have been dead for five to seven days, was found by the public at about 10.20pm.

Kota Bharu police chief Rosdi Daud said the victim, whose nationality has yet to be identified, was dressed in blue denim shorts.

There were no signs on the body that he had received the BCG vaccine for tuberculosis, common in Malaysians.

“No external injuries were found on the body,” Kosmo reported him as saying.

The body was sent to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for a post-mortem.
