Nga, who is also a DAP vice-chairman, said he was informed by Perak Umno treasurer Sham Mat Sahat about the matter, Sinar Harian reported.
“I was told the good news by my good old friend, Datuk Sham, that the Perak Umno liaison committee unanimously agreed BN will cooperate with PH in GE16.
“That is why the entire DAP machinery must work tirelessly as one team to ensure that not only PH candidates win, but BN candidates succeed, too,” he was quoted as saying at Perak DAP’s annual convention in Ipoh today.
Perikatan Nasional won the most number of state seats in Perak in the last general election, with 26, edging out PH, which had 24.
BN, which had nine seats, chose to form the state government with PH on Nov 21, 2022.
Nga, who is the Teluk Intan MP, reminded DAP members to strengthen their grassroots presence and stay united, saying preparations for GE16 had begun.
He also urged the PH-BN election machinery to block the PAS-driven “green wave” from spreading in Perak.
