PETALING JAYA:
Only Jalan Istana in Klang will be closed on Oct 2 for the royal wedding of Selangor crown prince Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin, says Klang Selatan police chief Ramli Kasa.

Ramli said the stretch of road from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Gallery to Istana Alam Shah would be closed from 8am to 10am to facilitate preparations and the movement of the royal procession.

“Other roads around the city of Klang will remain open and fully monitored by the traffic police,” he said in a statement.

“There will be no road closures in other districts across Selangor, and traffic in those areas will continue as usual.”

He advised the public to rely on official police announcements and ignore unofficial notices.

Klang police initially planned to close 12 roads, but Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah decreed that the royal wedding procession must not disrupt daily life in Klang.

According to Istana Alam Shah, he said that only Jalan Istana should be closed.
