A 43-year-old woman lodged a police report in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, after her eldest daughter informed her that another daughter, aged 15, was offering sexual services on Telegram, New Straits Times reported.
The mother believes that her daughter was involved sexually with several men.
It is understood that the siblings live with their father in Pasir Puteh after their parents divorced 10 years ago, the report said.
Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said police were investigating the case.
Yesterday, Yusoff had suggested that underage girls who have consensual sex should face legal action when their partners are charged with statutory rape.
Nearly 90% of statutory rape cases reported in the state involved consent by both parties, “but the existing laws lean more towards prosecuting men only”, Sinar Harian quoted him as saying.
The Penal Code provision on rape makes it an offence to have sex with or without consent with a girl under 16.
It is also an offence to have sex with consent with a female person when she is unable to understand the nature and consequences of that to which she gives consent.
