PETALING JAYA:
The six-year-old boy found buried in a remote area in Rompin, Jempol, was strangled to death with a cable tie, says Negeri Sembilan police chief Ahmad Dzaffir Yussof.

In a Bernama report, Dzaffir said the post-mortem at Rembau Hospital revealed that the boy died due to “pressure from a cable tie around his neck”.

Dzaffir said the boy’s father is still being remanded in Johor to assist in investigations but will be brought to Jempol for further questioning.

“We will also be recording statements from witnesses, particularly the boy’s mother,” he added.

Meanwhile, Jempol police chief Norhisham Mustapar said a hoe, believed to have been used to dig the boy’s grave, was recovered from a secluded area near Jalan Bahau–Rompin.

Police discovered the boy’s body yesterday after a tip-off led them to the burial site.

The boy’s father lodged a police report on July 24 after claiming the victim had gone missing.
