Cops track man who hit car with metal rod in George Town

Police say they have identified the man involved in the road rage incident on Jalan Lebuh Pantai yesterday afternoon.

The incident was caught on video and has since gone viral, according to police.

Police are tracking down a man in connection with a road rage incident on Jalan Lebuh Pantai in George Town, Penang, yesterday.

The incident, in which the man was seen getting out of his car and hitting another car with a metal rod, was caught on video, which  has since gone viral on social media, Bernama reported.

Timur Laut district police deputy chief Lee Swee Sake said a 25-year-old man lodged a report at 7.55pm yesterday.

The incident occurred at about 4pm when the complainant’s vehicle was struck by a car driven by the suspect.

The suspect came out of his car, retrieved a metal rod from it and struck the rear door of the complainant’s car, causing damage estimated at RM3,000.

Lee said the suspect has been identified and the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
