Cops probe video showing alleged bullying of schoolgirl

The incident involving a group of female students is believed to have taken place in the restroom of a secondary school in Klang.

Police have launched an investigation into a bullying incident involving female students that allegedly took place in the restroom of a secondary school in Klang, after a video of the incident went viral on Facebook.

Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said a report on the incident was made just before 1pm today.

“The cause of the incident is still under investigation,” he said in a statement.

A video lasting about two minutes went viral on social media, showing a student surrounded by a group of female students who hit and slapped her.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

Vijaya urged those with information to contact investigating officer Izroy Kamarulzaman at 014-818 3519 to assist with the investigation.
