In a statement, Sarawak police chief Mancha Ata said the seized drugs were worth a total of RM533,000 and comprised 7,086.7g of methamphetamine, 2078.9g of ketamine, and 2022.6g of Erimin 5 pills.
The raids were conducted at a store in Pusat Pendada and two terrace houses on Lorong Permai Jaya on June 12 and 13.
Mancha said the seized assets were worth nearly RM8 million, comprising RM5.16 million in cash, four gold ingots, two gold chains, three Rolex watches, and three luxury cars.
He said the masterminds – a 52-year-old man and 44-year-old woman – had been running the drug syndicate since 2015, obtaining their drugs from Peninsular Malaysia via courier.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking, which provides for the death sentence or 30 years’ imprisonment and a whipping.
Both suspects have been remanded from June 13 to 20 to assist with further investigations.
Mancha said they tested negative for drug use and had no criminal records.
