PETALING JAYA:
Police are investigating a video showing a man alleging sexual harassment by a balloon vendor in Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang.

Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar said in a statement that no official report was filed on the incident.

He urged the owner of the TikTok account on which the video was posted to come forward and assist in investigations.

“Initial checks on the TikTok account’s content revealed that the individual may have been involved in several other similar incidents at different locations, where attempts of criminal acts were made against him,” he said.

Zaiham urged those who had experienced similar incidents to contact the police and file a report.

The three-minute video showed a man catching his breath outside a building in Genting Highlands, recalling an encounter with an older man who was purportedly giving balloons to strangers.

The man claimed that upon accepting a balloon, the vendor invited him to a room for a snack. However, the balloon vendor allegedly locked the two of them in the room and asked the man to expose himself for RM50, which he refused to do.

But the man later pulled out a RM50 note from his hoodie before the video ended.

Asked if the video could be a prank, Zaiham said a report would be filed if it was found to be fake.
