Woman dies in fall from 7th floor of Penang mall car park

PETALING JAYA:
A 29-year-old woman died after falling from the seventh floor of a shopping mall’s multi-storey parking lot in Bayan Lepas, Penang, on Saturday.

Barat Daya police chief Sazalee Adam said the woman was confirmed dead at the scene after sustaining severe injuries from the fall.

He said police were alerted to the incident at 12.47pm by the mall’s auxiliary policemen, Sinar Harian reported.

Investigations found that the woman had left her home in Sungai Bakap at 9am and last contacted her family at 12pm, telling them she was going to buy food.

The victim’s personal belongings were found in a Honda City parked at the location.

The case has been classified as sudden death. Police are urging witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.
