KUALA LUMPUR:
The bodies of a 53-year-old woman and her 25-year-old nephew were found in the living room of her house in Semenyih, Selangor, last night after her brother reported a stench from the house.

A post-mortem examination revealed that they had been suffocated, Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said, according to Bernama.

He said police entered the house after a report was lodged by the brother at 8.43pm. The two bodies were found lying on the floor.

“A check of the house found no signs of ransacking. At the time of the incident, the house was locked from the inside. The motive behind the incident is still under investigation,” he said.

Several items from the house were seized for further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, but detailed statements from family members and witnesses will be recorded to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.

Naazron said preliminary information indicated the woman and her nephew had not been seen in their neighbourhood for nearly 10 days.
