3 Malaysians among 34 held in anti-drug op at Thai resort

PETALING JAYA:
Three Malaysian men were arrested by Thai police at a resort in Sungai Golok town yesterday for allegedly possessing various drugs and vape devices.

A Thai police spokesman said the trio, aged between 23 and 32, were among 34 people nabbed in an anti-drug operation. The other 31 detainees were Thai nationals.

The spokesman said the operation was carried out near the Thailand-Malaysia border, Harian Metro reported.

“Eleven people, including the three Malaysians, were arrested for possessing drugs and vape devices, while the 23 others were classified as drug addicts,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.

All 34 suspects are set to be charged with illegal possession of drugs for personal use. One of them will face an additional charge of possessing illegal imported goods, said the spokesman.
