JPJ director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said bidding through the JPJeBid system opens to the public tomorrow and closes next Tuesday at 10pm, with the results announced the following day.
In a statement, he said the lowest bid starts at RM300 for running numbers while the bidding price starts at RM20,000 for special numbers.
Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin has been the Raja of Perlis since April 2000.
Aedy added that the “VIPS” plate is also one of the federal government’s initiatives to promote the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025 campaign.
In February, transport minister Loke Siew Fook said the government collected RM45.9 million last year from the sale of special vehicle number plates, part of which was used to fund various programmes for those in need.
This included the “GOLD”, “FFF”, “EV”, “PETRA”, and “MADANI” series.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim won the bid for the “GOLD 1” number plate at RM1.5 million and also the “FFF 1” plate for RM1.75 million.
