Motorcyclist killed by boulder in Penang

Police say the rock estimated to weigh 50kg fell from the hillside at Paya Terubong and hit the Bangladeshi construction work in the head.

PETALING JAYA:
A Bangladeshi man died after being struck in the head by a 50kg boulder while riding a motorcycle on Jalan Paya Terubong in Penang last Friday.

The 34-year-old construction worker was confirmed dead at the scene from severe head and facial injuries, Kosmo reported.

Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake said the incident occurred at about 12.45am when the victim was heading towards Farlim from Bayan Lepas.

“A boulder weighing approximately 50kg fell from the hillside and hit the victim’s head,” he was quoted as saying.
