More evacuated due to floods in Johor, Sabah

The number of evacuees rose slightly to 481 people compared with 464 this morning.

KUALA LUMPUR:
The number of evacuees in flood-hit Johor and Sabah increased slightly this afternoon, taking the overall total to 481 people compared with 464 earlier today.

In Johor, the number of flood victims rose to 334 people from 110 families compared with 285 people from 94 families at 8am.

In Sabah, the number of flood victims in Kinabatangan increased slightly to 147 people from 31 families, compared with 138 people from 30 families this morning.

The evacuees came from four flood-hit villages.

On Wednesday, Kinabatangan, located 306km east of Kota Kinabalu, was declared a flood disaster area due to continuous rain and rising river water levels.
