
PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested nine people on suspicion of rioting with weapons at Jelapang in Ipoh, Perak, with a baseball bat, parang, samurai sword, knife and helmet.
A fight was said to have been sparked by a disagreement over a motorcycle that was used in illegal racing.
Six people required outpatient treatment following the brawl.
Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the suspects, aged 19 to 41, were nabbed in separate locations from 6.45am today, Bernama reported.
Following the arrests, police also confiscated a luxury car and a golf club.
Two of the suspects have criminal records while four of them tested positive for narcotics.
