JOHOR BAHRU: A temporary evacuation centre has been opened in Johor following a flash flood in Kampung Tengah Renggam, Kluang, today.
State disaster management committee chairman Azmi Rohani said the centre at SK Kampung Sri Renggam was opened at 9am to house 75 victims from 30 families.
Heavy rain which began at midnight and lasted until early this morning caused the area to be inundated by floodwaters.
“As of 4pm, only the Kampung Tengah Renggam area is still affected by the flash flood, with 75 victims,” he said.
