PETALING JAYA:
A 12-year-old girl was injured after a man snatched her gold chain at an apartment in Precinct 11, Putrajaya, yesterday morning.

Putrajaya police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said the girl sustained injuries to her chin in the incident, which occurred at about 9.45am.

He said the girl’s father lodged a report at 1.05pm.

“At the time of the incident, the complainant was not at home and witnessed the incident live through CCTV.

“The complainant saw a struggle between a man and his 12-year-old daughter,” he said in a statement today.

He said the man, dressed in a green jacket, black pants, black cap and a face mask, was holding a rubber hose and water container when he knocked on the door.

The man then asked the girl to connect the hose to the bathroom tap and fill the container.

“After the girl handed the water container back to the man, he pulled her hair and snatched the gold chain from her neck,” he said.

He said the girl and her mother were unable to identify the man.

Aidi said police were still working to identify the man.
