Anwar’s senior press secretary, Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah, said Anwar will celebrate Aidilfitri in Selangor (April 6), Pahang (April 11), Kelantan and Penang (April 12), Sarawak (April 19), Perak (April 25) and Perlis (April 27).
Further details on the locations will be announced by the Prime Minister’s Department, Tunku Nashrul said in a press briefing.
“Similar to last year, the Madani Aidilfitri celebrations will be held jointly by the federal government and the state governments, which will act as the hosts. The prime minister will be joined by the respective menteris besar and chief ministers,” he said.
He said Anwar invited Malaysians of all ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds to join in the celebrations, in upholding the spirit of mutual respect and harmony.
“These celebrations are also an important platform to alleviate racial and religious tensions, in respecting and celebrating our differences through interactions between the rakyat,” he said.
