
Tee Neng Yee, 33, pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him before judge Marlina Ibrahim.
He was accused of illegally storing fuel, kept in Flexi and IBC tanks, at an industrial area in Kampung Sungai Bangat at 1pm on March 27, 2023.
He was charged under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and Regulation 3(1) of the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
Under the Act, individuals convicted of such offences can face fines of up to RM1 million (or RM3 million for repeat offences) and/or imprisonment of up to three years.
Companies may be fined up to RM2 million, with penalties increasing to RM5 million for subsequent violations.
