PETALING JAYA:
The fisheries department has confirmed the discovery of the carcass of a whale which washed ashore on the Sungai Miang beach in Pahang on Sunday.

The department said the carcass had started to decompose, making it difficult to confirm its exact species.

An eDNA analysis will nonetheless be carried out to determine the species.

“Based on the condition of the carcass, it is either a Bryde’s whale or a fin whale,” it said in a statement today.
