PETALING JAYA:
Muslim women working for the Negeri Sembilan state government will be allowed to go home as early as 2pm every Friday during Ramadan.

Menteri besar Aminuddin Harun said this benefit would apply to about 2,500 women in the state civil service but not those employed by the federal government, Bernama reported.

“Flexible working hours in the state are for (Muslim) women only. Every Friday they are to come in at 7.30am and return at 2pm. They will have no breaks and since they are not involved in Friday prayers, they can go home directly.

“Meanwhile, the men will return to work after Friday prayers as usual. It is okay to work in the month of Ramadan because it is a reward,” he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri in Seremban today.
