GEORGE TOWN: A 25-year-old foreign tourist was injured after falling from the seventh floor of a shopping mall along Gurney Drive here this afternoon, police said.
Timur Laut police chief Rozak Muhammad said authorities were alerted to the incident at about 1.55pm.
He said the man sustained head injuries from the fall, but was conscious when paramedics transported him to the Penang Hospital at around 2.20pm.
“There are no elements of criminality. We urge the public not to speculate on the incident,” he said in a statement.
Police did not disclose the victim’s nationality or further details about the circumstances leading to the fall.
