PETALING JAYA:
Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari has expressed relief after Bersatu leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin apologised in court for allegations made against a Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) subsidiary.

Amirudin, a PKR vice-president, said the apology proved that the accusations made by the Bersatu man better known as Chegubard during the 2023 state election were slander.

“Thank God, today, the truth has prevailed. All kinds of accusations and attacks were hurled against me and the Selangor government (during the election campaign).

“And this proves that the culture of slander in Perikatan Nasional is a foolish culture. We must reject slanderous politics,” he said in a Facebook post.

Badrul, the Port Dickson Bersatu chief, apologised in the Shah Alam sessions court today over a defamatory statement he made regarding the Selangor Maritime Gateway project, as part of an out-of-court settlement.

He admitted that the allegations made against MBI Selangor subsidiary Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd were baseless, and expressed regret as to the effect of his statement and allegations.

LLSB filed the lawsuit on Aug 8, 2023 following a statement by Badrul that was published in several publications and shared on social media.
